Geneva Lake’s Main Attractions
There are 4 different beaches: Lake Geneva, Big Foot Beach State Park, Fontana, and Williams Bay. Lake Geneva is the main beach , and there is a $7.00 cover charge for beach access. The lake water is warm, and summer time temperatures reach upwards of eighty degrees.
If you are a fan of California beaches, you will love it here- it totally has a Southern Cali beach town vibe. There is so much to love about this resort area. It offers a great vacation getaway for everyone: families, couples, honeymooners, or singles all love to stay and play in Lake Geneva.
Boating, paddle boarding, jet skiing, kayaking, and several options for cruise tours await you. Lake Geneva Cruise Line offers chartered cruises around the lake to view the many mansions and an evening dinner cruise. Boats, Jet Ski, and Paddleboards are also available to rent.
Downtown Lake Geneva is a destination for one-of-a-kind shops. Whether you are looking for the latest fashion trend, unique piece of art, or home furnishings, the streets are alive with boutiques galore.
A fashion shop must see is “ShoShoo.” The shoes are so fun and whimsical. Here you will find all your favorite brands such as: Converse, Lucky Brand, UGG, and several more. Several of the shops carry laid back “resort style” apparel and a wide selection of swimwear to get you beach ready.
Geneva Lake’s Best Food & Drink Options
The area restaurants are known for serving cuisine made from fresh, local sourced ingredients. Dining options are many which include:
- Breakfast and lunch stops located downtown
- Dinner options range from intimate bistros to outdoor seating
- Fine dining can be found a different resorts nestled around the lake
- Ice cream shops are quite popular here as well
Pier 290 in Williams Bay is one to check out. The president of the Lake Geneva Cruise Line was the mastermind behind this eatery. A 100 year old marina was transformed into the only restaurant in the area, that sits right on the water. It was constructed with materials from around the lake. The pier offers stunning lake views, the atmosphere of a modern museum, fresh cocktails, and a fire pit to enjoy on the sand.
Getting Around Geneva Lake
If you decide not to rent a car when visiting, no worries- there are several options for navigating the lake area. You can enjoy a rides to rent such as: a taxibike, helicopter, bicycle, public transit, limo, and of course a boat.

Lake Geneva is a small town, but there are accommodations for every budget from low to high. Resorts seem to be the place of choice and most places are close to downtown, unless you are staying in a private rental tucked away somewhere else around the lake. The best mid priced hotels are:
