Female Travel Bloggers is thrilled to become the Travel Blogging advisor for Perlu – an influencer network. We’ve been poking around on the site for a few weeks and we are loving the experience so far. Perlu is an innovative professional network for influencers to help them collaborate with other bloggers, connect with brands as an influencer, and organize communities. By joining Perlu you will be able to extend your reach and grow your brand and niche in order to establish your expertise as a reputable blogger.

What is Perlu?

What is Perlu Networking

After using Perlu for a few weeks I like to think of it as if LinkedIn, a media platform like TravMedia, and a social media conglomerate had a baby named Perlu. I know that sounds like a weird combination, but there are many aspects to Perlu that can help bloggers, content creators, and influencers extend their reach.

In short, Perlu is a way for bloggers and influencers to connect with each other to network and create powerful collaborations, link swap, and cross promote. It is also a place to see and be seen with the chance to connect with brands and secure partnerships.

The LinkedIn aspect of Perlu is the ability to showcase you and your work as a blogger. Your profile on Perlu features your social media follower count and stats, statistics on and the strength of your domain, and other information about your content. Pretty cool, huh? Take a look at how the FTB profile looks.

Perlu network female travel bloggers

The aspect that acts as a media platform is the ability to pitch and respond to pitches from other content creators and brands. Keep an eye out in your Perlu feed for collabs that might be a good fit for you and search through pitch requests to find some cool projects.

The social media aspect features your most recent posts and tweets in a running feed that allows brands and bloggers to get a quick snapshot of the type of content you are creating and promoting.

What Are The Benefits of Perlu?

The cool thing about Perlu is they are growing at a rapid pace and constantly including and updating their platform with new features meaning the benefit of Perlu is going to exponentially increase.

Use it as a Media Kit or Business Card

business cards

One of my favorite benefits is the profile that you can set up on Perlu. So many times I have signed up for a cool new product and felt like I wasn’t able to promote myself or put my best foot forward. Perlu knows that you only succeed when you have the right exposure and reach. Perlu provides the world with a quick snapshot of you and your work allowing you to be able to use it like a media kit or business car. Perlu generates statistics that are important to brands and displays in an appealing manner. You can craft a personal bio that describes you and your brand. It also has a running feed of your most important social media platforms and your most recent blog posts, so the brand and other bloggers know right off the bat who you are and what type of content you create. Next time you are at a networking event try exchanging Perlu profiles rather than wasting paper on business cards and media kits.

Build Collabs with Exactly Who You Want

We all know that participating in collaborations with other bloggers is a valuable tool to create viral content on your website and build your DA, however, sometimes collabs can be more frustrating than they are worth. That is where Perlu comes in. If you’ve ever wanted to send out a targeted collab request to sustainable bloggers, or if you’ve ever wanted to find collabs for luxury bloggers offered by those with a DA over 40, then you need to sign up for Perlu ASAP. Perlu allows you to find the right collabs for you and your brand and find meaningful connections without wasting your time.

Female Travel Bloggers are going to be offering some exclusive collaboration opportunities only in Perlu, so make sure you join our pack for those chances!

Collabs aren’t just for traditional blog post collabs either. If you want a partner in crime to make a unique YT video with, make a call out on Perlu to find someone to make a video with and double your audience and reach with a new partnership.

One of the best parts about creating a collab is that you can immediately share it to all of the different packs that you are in right away. No more switching from Facebook group to Facebook group cross posting looking for people from random audiences. You can select target packs within the exact niche you are looking for.

The collab feature in Perlu keeps everything streamlined and organized, so you can reach out to those you want to collab with, in a timely manner and with ease. All your communication is in one place, no more massive email chains, docs, or spreadsheets.

Network Within and Dominate Your Niche

How many hours have you spent searching through the internet looking for other bloggers and influencers in your niche to connect with? Perlu takes the confusion out of things and allows you to search clearly defined packs with like-minded content creators. If you don’t see something that aligns with you and your brand then take charge and establish your dominance in a niche by creating your own pack.

Female Travel Bloggers have been hard at work creating packs for all types of FTBers, so look for our packs on budget travel, family travel, food and drink, over 40, sustainable travel, luxury travel, and more!

Where Influencers are Positive and Come First

The word influencer has developed a negative meaning over the last few years, but hard working influencers and creators are determined to take it back and Perlu is helping. Perlu is a platform created for influencers and puts their needs first. The brand that is on Perlu knows the value that influencers can provide and the meaning of working with them, so you don’t have to waste your breath on trying to explain what the heck an influencer is and why we matter.

Most influencer platforms allow you to list your name and only contact you when a brand is interested in you. Perlu shakes things up allowing the influencers to find the brands they want by using packs to find the right fit for them. That means you should join as many packs as brands will pitch projects through the packs. Perlu is designed to ensure that the influencers on their platform are real, so if you are an authentic and hard working influencer you are going to reap the benefits.

Perlu also allows you to increase your influence by getting your name out there to the right people in the right field.

CONVINCED?: If you’re convinced and ready to sign up for Perlu, do it now, and then come back to this post and we will walk you through the setup.

How To Set Up Your Perlu Account

Sign up for Perlu

sign up for Perlu Networking

If you haven’t already go through the motions of joining Perlu – because trust us you’re going to love it AND it is free- we will walk you through the steps of setting up your account to make the most of this awesome new platform.

When you first go to Perlu you will see the signup page. Here you enter your email, name, create a password, chose some areas of interest, and how you want to join (as a creator, brand, etc.) This part is pretty straight forward and easy to get through.

Edit Your Profile

After the initial sign up it is time to make your profile shine! The first thing we did was to make sure our bio was complete. Your bio is one of the first thing brands and other bloggers will notice about it. If you already have a bio created for a media kit, or for other publications, then this part should be easy. Bios should be short, sweet, and to the point. We suggest a few sentences about you and a few sentences about your brand or niche.

If you are in Female  Travel Bloggers most likely you are an influencer or personal brand.

You also want to set up your location, which will make it easier for you to find bloggers and packs for locations near you. This will give you a networking boost and help you establish location dominance.

Connect Your Social Media

It is now time to connect your social media on Perlu. This process is pretty streamlined and if you have a lot of your social media connected it will be pretty easy. If you don’t you can simply enter the URL for your social media accounts and you will need to verify them to ensure they are yours.

NOTE: If you are a VA and are connected to other social media accounts through Facebook for your clients, you may have to go through and remove some of their social media accounts. Make sure all the accounts that are remaining are yours before moving on.

Manage Your Blogs

This is where you connect your blog URL. Once you enter the URL, hit add. Again, you will need to verify the URL belongs to you. To verify your URL you will see a second tab pop up after you add your blog URL. Click on the new tab called “Blog Verification” and you will have the option to verify your blog by connecting a social media, adding a meta tag, uploading a file, or create a DNS record. Personally, we think social media is the easiest way to verify your blog, so try that first. If you run ads on your website make sure you check the box and use the right version of your domain. InPerlu prompts you when needed as you go along, so just follow their guidelines if you are confused.

You can repeat this process several times if you manage or run multiple blogs and websites.

Manage Profile Links

This is a great place to add other promotion links that aren’t social media or your website. You can connect facebook groups, Medium profiles, an online media kit, a digital portfolio, bylines you’ve racked up over the years, or anything else that is going to help you put your best foot forward. These do not need to be verified.

Customize Your Perlu URL

This is an important step you don’t want to miss. Make sure you grab your blog name ASAP to ensure your Perlu URL reflects your brand and blog and not some generic number. We obviously jumped in and grabbed Female Travel Bloggers right away.

Continue Down the List

Continue through the prompts on the left-hand menu board.

In order to get paid for collaborations with brands on Perlu, you need to set up your payable account. Perlu works with Stripe accounts, so you will be promoted to set up a stripe account if you don’t already have one. If you plan on using Perlu to its full advantage to get paid by brands then this step is necessary.

If you want an easy way to get people to follow you on Perlu, grab a Perlu Badge and add it to your website or blog like you have done with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and more.

You can also manage your notification preferences to opt in or out of Perlu’s emails about collabs that would be a good fit for you.

Bask in Your Glory

Make sure you add the finishing touches of a cool header image, upload your headshot and sit back and watch Perlu compute all your stats. This is a great snapshot of our social media numbers and influence. SV is the strength of your domain based off Domain Authority.

The categories cannot be edited and are pulled from your website. We currently are a bit confused about how FTB is related to country music and have asked for ways to control this content. We will see what happens in the future.

How to Get the Most out of Perlu

Now that you have a fancy new profile spend some time poking around Perlu. You’re going to be in awe at how many cool things you can do. We suggest spending some time networking in order to get followers. This will help you get eyes on your content and find new people to collaborate with. You can also check out the advisor page – Female Travel Bloggers are the blogging advisor, but there are lots of people available to help you connect with the right groups.

Use the top menu to walk you through all the options you have as new member to Perlu Network.

Perlu Network explore

This feature helps you search for and explore packs that are related to you and your niche. Make sure your visit the Female Travel Bloggers advisor page to join the packs we’ve created with female travel bloggers in mind.

networking with perlu

Everyone’s favorite thing, networking, has been simplified. Perlu makes networking with like-minded bloggers, content creators, influencers, and brands easier than ever.  Make sure you follow lots of people so you can see and be seen. The more people you engage with the more likely you are to connect with brands and the right people to make dynamic collaborations.

Packs are the best way for you to grow your reputation within a niche. If you join the right packs you will be surrounded by like-minded people which will make creating collaborations easier than ever. Joining packs related to your niche or style of travel is also going to help you get noticed by brands. If a brand joins Perlu looking for luxury travel bloggers and you are in a luxury travel pack you are going to get targeted for your niche.

Collabs help you create and contribute to content in meaningful ways without wasting your time. Perlu does a lot of the hard work for you and as you build your network and follow more accounts Perlu starts to suggest appropriate collab opportunities for you. They will even send you notifications when a collab you might be interested is right for you, to help you launch your collaboration career. You can also start your own collaboration, which is an easy way to source content from expert bloggers.

You can also make use of features like link swaps which allow you to place a call out for link placement or content request and what you can offer in return.
